The 2025 Ford Mustang comes in several different trims, all of which contain their own unique features, from convertibles to fastbacks. Here at Ed Martin Ford, we've put together a small guide to understanding the trim levels of this iconic muscle car, so you can make the best decision possible when choosing your next Mustang.
Trim Levels of the 2025 Ford Mustang
EcoBoost Fastback
Kicking off the list is the EcoBoost Fastback, the base trim of the 2025 Mustang lineup. Featuring a 2.3L GTDI I-4 engine and 10-speed automatic transmission, this powerful version of the Mustang is capable of generating up to 315 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. Several higher trims are also available for the EcoBoost series, including a convertible option.
On the inside, cloth front bucket seats with an available vinyl trim give the cabin a modern, sporty look while still maintaining high levels of comfort. A 13.2-inch centerstack infotainment touchscreen comes standard, as well as a 6-speaker sound system and FordPass Connect with a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, letting you stay connected on the go.
GT Fastback
The GT Fastback features a 5.0L Ti-VCT V-8 engine that's able to generate up to 480 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque, making it a good option for anyone in the market for a little more power. Like the EcoBoost, the GT Fastback is also available in higher trim levels, including a convertible option for a more luxurious, but still sporty feel.
Standard Track Apps display performance metrics on the 12.4-inch LCD digital instrument cluster, including an accelerometer that displays lateral and longitudinal G-forces, lap times, and acceleration.
Dark Horse
Finally, for those in need of a thrilling adventure on the road, the Dark Horse trim is a standout option that's sure to turn heads. With a modified 5.0L Coyote V8 engine and exclusive TREMEC 6-speed manual transmission, the Dark Horse is capable of generating an impressive 500 horsepower and 418 lb-ft of torque, making it and its premium version the most powerful trim level of the lineup.
While not available in a convertible form, the Dark Horse comes with its own available Handling Package that allows for improved aerodynamics and includes upgraded hardware and tuning. Also included in this package are 19-inch Tarnished dark-painted aluminum wheels, front towing hooks, a magnetic damping system, and a performance rear spoiler with a Shadow Black-painted gurney flap.
